ACCME accreditation statement
The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. The American College of Emergency Physicians designates this continuing medical education activity (i.e. each monthly Annals of EM article) for a maximum of 1.0 hour in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spends in the educational activity. All faculty participating in continuing medical education programs sponsored by The American College of Emergency Physicians are expected to disclose to the audience any real or apparent conflicts of interest to the content of their presentations. This CME activity is approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for 1 hour of ACEP category 1 credit.

This activity is intended for physicians with a focus on emergency medicine providers. Upon completion of this CME activity, participants will be able to apply the latest advances, research, and consensus expert opinion in clinical diagnosis, management, and treatment necessary for the practice of Emergency Medicine.
